In which the Wolfmom lets you in on a few of the things bouncing in her brain and in the brain of the Wolfkid.
Things are quiet in the Wolfenoot household
Good morning, my loves.
Things have been a bit quiet around here. The wolfkid spent the last week of his school term pretty sick and cuddled up to his Momma, who then got sick in turn, just in time for the school holidays.
Ten long kid-free days earmarked for getting many things done ended up instead spent ensconsced in tissues and antibiotics and marathons of Good Omens and Critical Role.
I’m still not completely back to normal, but today we get the two younger sproglings back again, so the quiet is about to vanish for another term or so. 😉
I’ll just have to get the stuff done amidst chaos as usual.
The Golden Paw
So it turns out that the hard part of the Golden Paw is actually getting hold of the people who have won it! This has consistently been the trickiest bit of the process for me so far. I’m giving some thought on how to tweak the whole process to make it a bit more streamlined, but at the moment, it’s been a bit stalled by the fact that my emails seem to not be getting through.
I recently asked on social media whether people would be keen on a Wolfenoot themed calendar, sold for charity. There was a pretty decent response! I’m going to do some research into what it’ll take on my end to get it done. I can’t imagine it can be that hard, especially given that I already have publishing knowledge and contacts. So, watch this space, I guess. 😉
I have a few tricks up my sleeve for this upcoming Wolfenoot. I’m hoping to turn it into, essentially, a charity drive for doggie/wolfie organisations. Let’s save some more puppies this year, yeah? It’s still very much in the “getting the ideas organised” phase, but we’re working on it!
Children of the Wolfenati
The Wolfkid wants to start a kids conservation club to help “save the earth and stop the people who are hurting it”. This may involve a youtube channel. He wants to call it “Children of the Wolfenati”, in part because it sounds like a horror game/movie and he reckons that “the bad people who hurt animals should be scared of us!”. Who can argue with that? 😉 Oh for the confidence of an eight year old. Again, we need to do some serious planning to make this work, so hopefully we’ll have something more to show you soon. 🙂
As always, we are so grateful to all of you for all your love and support over the last year as we have tried to work out how to ride this comet and make it into something magical that fits into our lives. It is still a bit surreal, to be honest. At the moment, we are very much in planning mode and things feel a bit like everything is waiting to take off again. But you all keep sending us messages and supporting what we’re doing, and we are just ridiculously grateful for that.
Or you can buy me a coffee. 😉 (Disclaimer: while I may buy coffee with this fund, it is more likely to go to groceries and other general household expenses.)
